In Heaven, Underground
Tucked away in the north of Berlin, surrounded by walls and hidden beneath a primeval forest of trees, rhododendrons, and ivy is the Weissensee Jewish Cemetery. Created in 1880, the cemetery has 115,000 graves over 100 acres of land. Neither the graves nor the archives have ever been destroyed. The cemetery continues to grow and is a paradise for gatherers of stories. Film director Britta Wauer and cinematographer Kaspar Köpke share those stories.
